The Liveurope team reunited at Eurosonic Noorderslag 2016
In January, the Liveurope member venues had a productive reunion during Eurosonic Noorderslag, a four-day music showcase festival that gathers together emerging artists as well as music professionals and lovers from Europe and beyond. For the second consecutive year, Liveurope held a panel discussion to introduce the platform to the music industry. This year's panel was about presenting the results of the platform's first year and shedding some light on future plans. The mic was handed to the managers of member venues FZW, VEGA, Rockhal, and Ancienne Belgique.
The discussion covering the EU funding in the live music industry and the figures showing a steady growth of emerging acts in the programming created a buzz among several venues across Europe – we are hoping to get all on board in the future!
The managers of Liveurope steering committee, Steen Jørgensen (VEGA), Olivier Toth (Rockhal), Dirk De Clippeleir (Ancienne Belgique), and Volker May (FZW), discussed the importance of EU support for live music venues and the artistic exchange between countries
For more strategic scheming, the members of Liveurope venues came together on Friday to make concrete decisions for the ongoing season. These get-togethers are also the best possible forums for some border breaking artistic exchange. We have got an impressive selection of great emerging talents coming up this year so keep your ears open!
