Oh Non will bring their surreal blend of alternative rock and quirky French chanson to Posthof, our Austrian venue in Linz, as part of the Ahoi! Liveurope line-up. Ahead of their show, they spoke to the Posthof team about their distinctive sound and their hopes for a stronger, more supportive European music scene.
How would you define your sound?
Oh Non: between alternative rock and quirky French music, the music played in a surrealist cabaret.
From buzzing, to scat from noise and screams to melody, we return from the past to go through the present.
What are your hopes for the European music scene?
Oh Non: may DIY and underground concert venues stop closing and new ones open, for they are rich and precious source of artistic and ideological vitality.
May there be greater mutual aid and solidarity among musicians and artists across all disciplines. May the artist’s role in society be repoliticized in the face of rising fascism and right-wing politics.
