Liveurope lands in Barcelona for two evenings of ‘Be My Guest’ at Sala Apolo

The celebrations for Liveurope’s 10th anniversary continue in full swing, and our next stop is at Sala Apolo in Barcelona! 

On 12 and 13 September, Sala Apolo will host two nights from their renowned “Be My Guest” concert series, featuring 8 bands in a showcase format where electronic, folk and pop take centre stage.

Bringing together all Liveurope members, the event will be an opportunity to connect and dive into the local music scene, discover emerging talent, and engage in lively discussions.

Organised as part of our Soundcat initiative, the showcase will shine a spotlight on Catalan artists, featuring some of the region's hottest acts. They will be joined on stage by up-and-coming European artists with great international potential, promising an exciting mix of local and European sounds.

18:00 - 19:30 Conversation with Raül Refree and Aïda Camprubí “Folklore has a match with new genres” @ Sala Apolo

A conversation with music producer Raül Refree and cultural programmer Aïda Camprubí exploring how and why more and more contemporary productions are integrating folkloric and traditional elements in new music genres.

About the speakers

Raül Refree is one of Spain’s most acclaimed producers, having worked with impressive artists from all genres such as pop star Rosalia, Portuguese artist Lina, Malian Rokia Koné and the Italian Maria Mazzota. 

Aïda Camprubí is the cultural programmer at Sala Apolo and a multifaceted creative—writer, musician, and TV personality. She hosts Boiler Room in Spain and writes cultural reviews for Rockdelux, Vogue España, La Directa and El Salto.

Line-up: 

Los Sara Fontán
This electronic music duo, formed by Sara Fontán and Edi Pou, brings an out of the norm sound, with combinations of violin, keyboard, drums, pedal effects and electronic resources. Their first LP, “Queda pendiente”, was released in 2023. 

Electro Ma Non Troppo
Soprano Neus Llorens (vocals and sampler) and producer Ignasi Bosch (synthesizers) make up this “electrobaroque” duo, revamping four hundred years old sounds with XXI century electronics. 

C.O.U. (Centre d’Observació de l’Univers) 
The project, which was unveiled for the first time at this year's Sónar, is a center of musical and visual experimentation: psychedelia, dub, jazz, cassette tapes, club and dance that create a shortcut to the unconscious. 

Cushla (IE)
This Irish-Barcelonian collective brings on stage a musical experience that crosses borders and translates the Irish cultural heritage into drum machines, analog synthesizers and digital arts.

Maria Jaume
This Mallorcan singer and songwriter just released her new album “Nostàlgia Airlines”, featuring urban and Latin sonorities. The album is an evolution from the melancholic minimalism of her first two albums and has caused a stir in the Catalan music scene. 

Marta Knight
This artist’s indie rock proposal has been gaining depth song after song, building an artist with a solid personality and composition evidenced in her debut album “Strange Times Forever” (2022). 

Yaunest
Alter ego of the Empordà singer-songwriter and vocalist Jaume de Quintana, in 2022 Yaunest released his first EP “Wonder Room” with the production of b1n0. The artist explores sonorities close to pop and Nordic R'n'B. 

Dominik Prok (SK)
Singer of the Slovak post-punk band 52 Hertz Whale, Dominik Prok debuts his first solo album “there is no rescue mission, we are safe”.  The album features a folk sound, with a combination of guitar, flute, piano, bass and banjo.
