Liveurope Festival at VEGA 2026
The Liveurope Festival is heading north! On 3 and 4 December, our Danish venue VEGA will host the Nordic edition of our annual 2 day celebration of music discovery in Copenhagen.
As part of the Above 55° initiative, with the support of the Nordic Culture Fund, the festival will be an opportunity to discover new alternative Nordic talent and strengthen connections between the Nordic music scene and the wider European live music sector.
Beyond the showcase, we are excited to explore new technologies in live music with the Liveurope members and get insights from innovations at VEGA.
Preliminary Programme
Join us for an informal networking gathering with a selection of independent Danish record labels. They will introduce their work and showcase the artists on their rosters that deserve a place on your radar.

Artists and their teams who took part in the morning workshop will be invited to join representatives of Liveurope venues from across Europe for an informal networking lunch. The session is designed to encourage conversations between Nordic emerging artists and professionals from the live music sector, creating opportunities to share experiences, build relationships, and explore future collaboration opportunities.

Music venues are more than a place for concerts, they are a space for coming together, escaping through music, and collectively imagine other possible worlds and futures.
This workshop session invites music venues to reconnect with the imagination that fuels our work: what feeds it, what power already exists in our culture and our network, and what we can do as spaces for serious imagining for change.
The workshop is guided by two questions: How can venues remain culturally independent? And, in a landscape shaped by commercial and governmental pressures, funding conditions and shifting expectations, how can we create a programme with a clear voice and a strong point of view?
Breakout Room 1: Technology in Service of Imagination
If music can give us a glimpse of other possible futures, what role should technology play in that? In this room we explore how new tech can help venues experiment, take artistic risks and stay culturally independent, rather than follow whatever the market or the streaming platforms dictate. The aim is technology that strengthens originality and honors the art and the performance, instead of replacing them.

Breakout Room 2: Venues as Shared Creative Spaces
If venues are to be spaced of serious imagining change, the audience can be part of the imagining too. In this room we explore how participation, shared ownership and new formats can make the venue a place where the future is tried out, not just performed. These formats might also be an alternative to the logic of arena shows and a way to stay independent.

Practicalities
By train
Copenhagen is well connected by rail to major Scandinavian and European cities. There are direct train connections from Stockholm, Gothenburg, Hamburg, and Malmö, with easy onward connections from the rest of Europe. You can find schedules and tickets on the Danish railway operator's website.
By night train
You can also consider taking a night train from cities such as Stockholm, Berlin, or Hamburg. Night trains can be a comfortable and sustainable alternative to flying.
By plane
The closest airports to Copenhagen are:
- Copenhagen Airport (CPH) – approximately 8 km away
- Malmö Airport (MMX) – approximately 45 km away
From the Airport to the city
Copenhagen Airport is directly connected to the city centre by both metro and regional train. The journey to Copenhagen Central Station takes approximately 15 minutes, and trains and metros run frequently throughout the day and evening.
Copenhagen has an extensive and efficient public transport network including metro, buses, and trains. The city is also famous for its cycling infrastructure, making bicycles one of the easiest ways to get around. Bike rental and bike-sharing services are widely available throughout the city.
