In cooperation with ten music event organizers, Kino Šiška is announcing a series of 14 interactive concert streams from the venue’s big stage. The concerts will take place between 5 May and 16 June, every Tuesday and Friday at 9 PM (with the exception of the Špil Liga semi-final evenings), and you will be able to participate and shape them via Kino Šiška’s Zoom, YouTube and Facebook channels.
With venues closing down due to COVID-19 restrictions, musicians and concert organizers were suddenly faced with the fact that concerts in front of a live audience are not possible until further notice. In light of these conditions, Kino Šiška has come up with the ŠTREAM project, which will provide a concert experience through screens: 14 one-hour live music events will take place on the Katedrala Hall stage with full sound and lighting facilities and with audience participation through digital means.
ŠTREAM supporting the endangered music scene
Kino Šiška has invited ten of its regular partner organizers, who are among the most active in the Slovenian concert scene and are unable to fulfil their mission in these times, to participate in the project. In collaboration with Radio Študent, Dirty Skunks, Druga Godba, Sonica, Jazz Cerkno, ŠKUC R.O.P.O.T., KAPA Records, Kataman, Nimaš izbire and ŠKUC KSB, Kino Šiška will organise interactive concert streams by Slovenian acts Matter, Svojat, Eruption, Jimmy Barka Experience, Širom, Oholo!, Dežurni krivci, Nina Bulatovix, N’toko, Kukla & Balans, The Canyon Observer and pijammies, as well as of the two semifinal evenings of the Špil Liga high school band league. The streams will take place between 5 May and 16 June, every Tuesday and Friday at 9 PM, via Kino Šiška’s Zoom, YouTube and Facebook channels. The musicians will receive fees for their performances, and the audience will be able to support the artists and concert promoters by donating directly during the stream.
ŠTREAM is not just a stream
Viewers on the Zoom platform will be able to tune in via video and thereby become part of the virtual audience. During the concert, they will be able to communicate directly with the performers via video and with the help of a moderator. So-called chat rooms for viewers’ comments and questions will also be open. All who will watch the concert live via Zoom will be “in the front row”, as the performers on the stage will see them on a screen in front of them.
